Now I am talking to another guy. We just exchanged phone numbers last night. I like him and he doesn't live far away, only about 45 minutes. He has 5 kids (all with the same woman) which isn't a problem for me plus he seems really involved with his kids which is great. Unless it has changed since I got rid of cable years ago, why did I never see this show in reruns? It was successful when it originally ran on ABC, but just seemed to vanish when the series ended.
Every woman on that show was pretty hot, but Nancy (the blonde) was my favorite. Nicholas was one of the most annoying characters on TV, though. I couldn't stand that little shit.

^ you're too young and it wasn't "famous enough" for you to have heard of it. I'm betting there's a ton of 70s-early90s shows you've never heard of.
And then, well... I worked with a woman who's maybe 10 years younger than me (I'm 55, she's in her 40s now), I remember one day back in 2005 she mentioned she was going to see "King Kong" at the movies with her hubby. I said "I wonder if he dies at the end like the original?"
She said "what do you mean 'the original'?". Uh, like 1930s? Fay Wray?
She had no idea it was a remake, never heard of the 1933 original. I was rather amazed at that, I mean 1933 is ahead of my time even (in fact my mom was *born* in 1933), but even I'd heard of it (and even seen it).
But then I'm sure there's a lot of lesser known stuff I've never heard of, even today - I got rid of TV like a decade ago now, I have no idea what's on these days.
I'm betting you know every kids show on TV today... I know none. Well, maybe Sesame Street is still on? I have no idea.

^^^forums, I think Sesame Street is still on. I recently read read that Oscar the Grouch was from my home province :-). He's my kind of guy.
I was never fond of SS. I always considered it "busy" with all those bulging shapes, lights flickering and those voices shouting a number - FIVE!!! Same reason I never liked Oprah - could never figure out why so many love someone who shouts so often.
I was partial to Romper Room (does anyone remember that?). I watched each day (or most days) to see if she ever "saw" my name in that little mirror they held up. Never happened. To this day, when I walk past those set-ups where they sell little signs or pens, etc. personalized with names, I look for mine. Have yet to see it. To date, two of my favourite gifts were from people who brought me back items personalized with my name when they returned from travel. One item was a tiny wooden carving and one was a small wire figure bent into my name. Each item probably cost no more than ten dollars but they appealed to that kid in me, searching for her name in that Romper Room mirror :-).

Oldies but goodies...Mannix, The Rockford Files, Have Gun Will Travel,Branded,Sky King,Bonanza, High Chaparral. Etc. I remember in the 60's we had a RCA black and white tv with oval shaped screen...(rabbit ears and all) we were watching tv on a Sunday evening when Playtex had a commercial where they had a mannequin bust with a "Cross your Heart" bra displayed...my mom started yelling "hide your eyes now!" Lol...how the times have changed.

I hate that this sounds like a crotchety ol' buzzard rant, but TV today flat out sucks.

mY FATHER STILL HAS HIS black and white tv's A lot of my family has held on to their things from decades ago, too, and they're always looking to add to their collection. They'll go to garage sales and if there's an 8-track player, VCR, or even a damn dial up modem for sale, they're all over it.
If you ask why the hell they bought it, they'll tell you "well, it was only a dollar".
Ugh.

Some shows for whatever reason have never appeared as reruns on tv. Others I have seen on the channel guide a lot over the years. I no longer get cable but the streaming services do show a few oldies. In the 80s my former stepdad used to watch a lot of old shows. By far the ones I hated the most were Seinfeld and Three's Company. I did really like All in the Family and I Love Lucy, the humor in both of those still translates well.
I love old movies from the 30s and 40s. My favourite movie of all time is a comedy from 1939 starring Ginger Roger's and David Niven called Bachelor Mother. I used to watch TCM quite a bit. I found movies really went down in quality in the 60s and 70s but then got good again in the 80s and 90s.

The 3 boys I wanted to punch out back in the 1970s was the pig nosed Adam Rich (Nicholas on Eight Is Enough), Robbie Rist (Cousin Oliver on The Brady Bunch), and Jimmy Osmond.

Does anyone remember "Too Close For Comfort"?? This is the two daughters back in 2018. Both are worthy of an invite to the pig pen.

^^^ I do remember! It came on after Three's Company on ABC. I had a Lydia Cornell poster when I was a teen. She definitely had more curves than Deborah Van Valkenburgh.

Oh, shit. Speaking of annoying male characters, Monroe from that show was annoying as hell.

Quincy ME
Brilliant. The chief of police caught someone every week.
Hand cuffed and lobbed in jail.
Then Quincy proved it wisnae him.
Yet the chief of police was never sacked or demoted.
Happy times.
