I never did listen to that show myself, but have heard references to it. Retail stores are open again around here, and the beaches opened up. The weather here has been beautiful, right into the mid 70F/20C. Good wind for sailing in the inlet.

Some fronts moving through. Possible thunder/lightning later on. Getting warmer, humid. Weather person mentioned 'SULTRY' for tonight. Dragged up my fans from the basement. I'm ready. ;-)

Another heat wave here. Any suggestions from you Ms P and others how to cope? We be miserable up here~ You folks seem to take it in astride. Like we do the Winter. Iced tea all day long w mint sprigs.A mint margarita in the afternoon ( 12:01) Lots of chilled salads.Egg,potato, slaw ect. Frozen fruit Fans are amazing Low physical activity... Peppermint and lavender oil in water, chilled in a spritz bottle and spray your neck and throughout the house Rose water chilled and splashed on & sit in front or under that fan w your minty margarita. Lighten up the bass in your music. Wear lavender or other pastels. Stare at Monet paintings Remove curtains and go with light blinds. Dont talk politics or religion. Put your feet in a bucket of cold water and grab a book like Fried Green Tomatoes. yesterday was the hottest its been in 2020 so far

Thanks for the great suggestions, Ms P. I don't like A/C in my home. Though I don't mind it in stores or movie theatres or other people's houses. After being cooped up all winter, can't imagine *not* throwing open windows and doors in the summer. I have a lot of different kind of fans. I keep a pitcher of water handy and a good book as I practice 'low physical activity'~ LOL
I like the Peppermint/ lavender spritz idea for the house as well as the body. Air can get sooooo stagnant at times. Probably a good time for reggae music!
Forecast to be above normal temps all week. In the 90s F. 'Feel like' temp higher with the tropical dewpoints.
Minty margarita 'quarantini' sounds quite refreshing. Cheers, Ms P~

It's so damn hot here, I'm starting to see fans of the Orlando Magic basketball team take the paper bags off of their heads.

Cooled off nicely with the storms coming through. I love a good rainy day; the windows are wide open with the cool breeze coming through. While it lasts anyway. Im waiting for the sunshine to blare through. Tomorrow should be a nice beach day. Nothing like that teal green ocean we are known for. Its been pretty clean these past few hurricane years.
Campin' out in my room after two successful eye surgeries, and new covid regulations. Gotta have a mask on at the beach these days.

Shaping up to be quite violent at the moment. Thunder so powerful it is shaking the house. And rain is pouring in sheets. Might be an interesting night.

^^^ Did you make it through the storm Ms BB19? Are you able to 'go to ground' in a basement or some such place? Those electrical storms can get on a person's last nerve after awhile. Specially the thunderclaps that sound like a bomb going off right on top of your dwelling--- or the fork of lightning that strikes way too close for comfort.

Specially the thunderclaps that sound like a bomb going off right on top of your dwelling--- or the fork of lightning that strikes way too close for comfort. I did indeed and it was much shorter than I expected. Weather is amazing. It is pleasant one minute and BOOM, the next minute the entire house is shaking with thunder to beat all thunder. And yes, you're right, it sounds like it's right on top of the dwelling. Some of it is so extreme that it seems it MUST have hit nearby, but it did not, at least not last evening. Poor pup (he's a senior but always a pup in my eyes :-). He loathes storms. I wonder if he feels the static of a storm approaching because he knows a lot sooner than I do that something is up. He has that type of fur that stands on end easily so I wonder if that is part of it. We have had some wicked hail this year - the kind that has quite literally shredded the siding on some homes and crashed through windows. Really hoping that more of that doesn't happen!! It reminds a person how small they are though.

When my Kitty's ears rotate, and I see him slink down on his belly and scurry towards the basement stairs, I *know* something's up weather-wise. Gives me a window of time to gather emergency supplies in case I need to follow~
