Someplace with a little elbow space (not urban or suburban residences) would be my primary concern, and right where I'm at isn't too bad. Admittedly however, things like the recent cold snap here sometimes makes me think that someplace a tad warmer might warrant a bit of looking into.

^ "a tad warmer" might be putting it a tad mildly. :) I love living here in this part of Cape Cod...and loved living in Devon, England too. editing to add a new question:what's on your Christmas list this year?

Maybe a little box of chocolates for the local "crazy old hermit". (though the kids next door will likely get the lion's share of em) SQ

While the stuff is pretty darn good, I like the dark meat from the turkey's thigh. It's near perfection (in my opinion)
What do you think of businesses being open on holidays?

I think it's fine since not everyone celebrates the holidays in the same way....or even the same holidays on the same days.

I think it's sad that people that would like to be home with their families are having to work really crappy hours. I don't shop on holidays as my protest even though it doesn't affect them much.
If you put up a tree this time of year, is it up yet?

I understand, bug. For some, getting a chance to work Thanksgiving (and Christmas) and getting time-and-a-half, or more, is a bit of a godsend. My job doesn't get holidays off....just depends on if it falls on a working day for me, or not. There are many jobs that are not retail related that are open 24/7, 365 days/year....jobs in health, for example, like mine, and nursing homes, residential homes, etc. When I worked in one, our manager would ask who wanted to work the holidays and often too many signed up....to make the extra money.
Um...back to the question. Well, I've had my little tree up all year with white lights and roses and butterflies. It was easier to keep up than put away.
But my son asked yesterday if we could also have a real tree this year with everyone coming home for Christmas....so I'm going to try and get a smallish one still in its pot so I can use it again next year. A bit concerned young Jeremy will think it's his own personal cat tree full of wonderful things to play with, but would still be worth it, I think.
Um....so yes and no is the answer to your question. :)

We always have warm chocolate-filled croissants christmas morning. It's a yummy way to start the day.

I kinda get a rare craving for mincemeat tarts around the holiday season. Odd, because generally I'm not that big of a fan.
