If you google 'Liam Gillen' it will take you to a YouTube of his guided meditation. He explains what yoga nidra is and you can use it to transform your life in an almost effortless way. What's not to love, eh!?!
Basically you lie down covered, floor bed whatever. And just follow along with his words and guidance. Contracting, relaxing muscles, becoming aware of every body part, visualizations, etc. with an intention put forth in the middle of it of what you want to change/improve,etc. For instance,'I am healthy and whole and in alignment with life'
I injured a muscle(s)deep in the hip/thing area a few years back which has resisted healing efforts. Finally went to a chiropractor as a last resort. (Thinking an Acorn Stair Life was in my future)She combined chiro techniques with yoga and one day mentioned the yoga nidra practice and I was hooked from the get-go. Lots of YOuTube vids out there---one that also includes some chakra work that I like, too.
Check Liam out. he has a great voice and explains the process in a non 'woowoo' way~

The Trump admin in 2018 legalized the growing of the Hemp Plant in the US of A. The fiber and its derivatives seemed to used in lots of things these days, sort of like Bamboo---a plant equally easy to grow.
And its oil CBD---seems to be the new cure-all or at least the start of looking into the beneficial uses of the Cannabis plant in a serious way<<<
Anybody used CBD? Good or ill or neutral?

^^^ What does your friend use it for? There was an article in Consumer Reports about the product. Sounds like no oversight yet so hard to know if you're getting a quality product or not.

I caught this a couple years ago on the bube-tube and it left a lump in my throat, so I looked for it, found, and recorded it shortly thereafter. To this day, it still leaves a lump in my throat.

Oops, that one ended far before the program was finished. I think this might be it in it's entirety

I never have, but I know others who swear by it. Please go to the medical marijuana thread here in the body works board. A couple of months ago I posted a really good video on CBD oil that you might find interesting. It could be the last post in the thread.

In August, I was introduced to the practice of Yoga Nidra, a sleep meditation. Anyone else? Been life changing for me. I go to Eischens Yoga Class every Wednesday night. It is sort of a restorative yoga This is my teacher Lynn. She has lots of free videos on youtube. The VA Doc I saw yesterday suggested therapeutic Yoga for help with my problem. It seems driving big rig trucks with limited headroom caused me to pull my head down and forward. Which led to a acquired kyphosis and is partly causing my nerve issues. This, they say, is the cause of my chronic pain problem. The Doc said in looking at YouTube videos, look for ones where the person in the video has "white" hair, as in a older person. He said I need to work on "chest opening". I have no idea about any of this and it is my first time with yoga.
I think my big spike in pain levels this week is my body's way of saying, you haven't been paying attention to the signals I've been sending you for 6-10 months. Everything in my treatment has been a waiting game. Wait to see this specialist or another test results. Before my pain level was a 3 to a 6. It jumped to a solid 7 or more. 1000mg of Tylenol plus 400mg of Advil, just takes the edge off the pain.

Behind Blue Eyes , I’m sorry for your pain. It’s so depleting. When I read your post, I did wonder if it could be nerve pain vs muscular, which would explain why what you’re taking is hardly helping. Then just now I read in the hate it thread you finally found out it is a compressed nerve, which is what is going on for me too, but in my back with a disc compressing the nerve through my hip and down my leg. It is a long recovery time, but what has helped me was a medication called Gabapentin that is for neuropathic pain. It will make you sleepy, so I just take a tiny dose morning and night. I also had a straight western procedure I wouldn’t recommend where they injected steroid into the spine to try and numb the nerve. I could feel the whole procedure and basically it didn’t work, so not doing that again. It is unusual for me to not try alternative forms of treatment, but I was desperate this time because my injury was affecting my job and I need my job a few more years. So, after weeks of high doses of ibuprofen with little help, finally my friend who also struggles with neuropathic pain for many years suggested Gabapentin and it has really helped. I thought it was ironic my doctor hadn’t thought of it. If I were to suggest an alternative or complimentary treatment for you, it would be acupuncture or cranial sacral. I found cranial sacral really helped me years ago with sciatica different than I have now. I also learned then chiropractors for this sort of injury are very bad for me as the treatments aggravated, not helped, the pain. Hope you find some relief soon.

As bad as it feels to me, my pain is nothing compared to my late wife's pain.
I guess debilitating is a good word for where I'm at now. This has been building up for almost a year. It is like my body is telling me, you haven't listened to us. Till this last week it would hurt, sometimes bad. But I could stand it and deal with it. It started with minor pain and tingling/buzzing in my arm.
Then add in the loss of moral support when my GF broke it off. I think it is easier to cope with pain, when you have someone there for you to share it with. My daughter tried the other night. We were talking and then she gave me a hug. But the parent child relationship is different than that.
