Photo was requested, so here is part of a pic taken just before we left for the charity Ball last night. It was a Fire Ice theme this year. I was ice.

Brocks Mill, Trenton NC. This was 6 feet under water during the last hurricane. I coudnt close on my house, couldn't find a motel, and slept on an air mattress at church for almost two months waiting for the county court house to open. We hosted the Red Cross cause I was there to help. Felt like I did my part to thank those whom came from around the nation.

Thank you. It's terribly messy now with weeds that will take me weeks to tidy, by which point they'll be taking over like triffids. :) It's actually a gorgeous property my parents designed and built many moons ago to retire here. I live in the servants quarters...nah, but sortof. I rent the two bedroom flat in the basement to help them make ends meet and also fortunately was here to help with their health the last couple of years they were so sick until they recovered somewhat and then my dad passed. The back garden, of which you can see a little bit in those photos got completely overgrown and lost its beauty when my parents got too elderly to take care of it. So I spent a summer a few years ago every day between work shifts bringing it back to some of its former glory. I feel very blessed and grateful to be here, though only for 3 or 4 more years before my mom plans to sell it and move closer to Boston near friends as maintenance here is getting way too costly with the house aging so much now. And I'm aging now too to carry on like I used to keeping it all tidy, planted, watered and beautiful. Anyway, let me see if I can find another photo of the whole back yard since I often do photograph it in different seasons as it's very photogenic. :)

My friend Jo took this photo last week of "The Mary Tyler Moore House" getting repainted. That is the house in Minneapolis where Mary Richards and her friend Rhoda lived in the MTM TV Show in the early 1970s.
