Excel started putting decimals in where they are neither wanted, nor needed. For example, I enter 22, I get 0. When I click on the formula bar, it shows as .22. To get an actual 22, I have to enter 2222 (but it only "appears as 22, it still actually has two decimal places). I have a sheet with over 29,000 rows multiplied by at least 10 columns -I am feeling a little desperate here. I didn't select anything, it randomly started doing this. I have tried every decimal removal and formatting strategy I could find and have looked online thinking certainly it has happened to someone else before, but can find nothing. I have tried deleting, not saving the spreadsheet it started in and restarting the computer. It is still doing it. This is version 2016. If you have thoughts, I would really appreciate it. I have to set up a fairly complex workbook to perform several functions throughout the upcoming fiscal year and cannot proceed with when I can't input the correct values. Despite just getting the specs for the project today, the sheet is due tomorrow.

Sounds like you've somehow gotten it into a mode that assumes currency rounded to whole numbers? 0.22 = 0, 22.22=22, etc. I'm guessing 55.55 rounds up to 56?

Try setting cell format to text or enter an apostrophe then enter the number.
Worth a bash.

Thank you for the suggestions and help. No luck yet. I may start day drinking at this point.

Could you call a support number with Excel to get help? Unfortunately, a lot of customer service support are not taking personal calls now since their man power is greatly reduced, or home, but worth trying maybe.
