^^^ I spent three years with him, and between him and the subsequent boyfriend whom I spent another three years with, I learned to never attempt to date again. Clearly, I do not select well!!!
And yes, priorities are a tad skewed and certainly he is a first class a-hole for saying such a thing. He declares himself happy with his fiancé so why randomly lash out (I have never contacted him)? Even if the sentiment is likely accurate, it is beyond unkind and inappropriate to point it out. Thankful he is someone else’s problem now though!!! So much drama.

Was he wishing covid on you? plonka
Lol bough.....in an instant I’d have replied....’yes, and that still beats living with you’ but obviously that would depend on how it came to pass. 😂

Strange for him to be thinking of you, bendingbough, and to reach out in such a nasty way.
Sounds to me like he’s unhappy, so still wants to try and hurt your happiness too. Wanker. Sorry to be blunt.
I definitely would block him in all ways so he can’t infiltrate your life or head space in any way ever again.
My picker is off too, but I learned from each of my relationships, and had to learn not to put myself down for the pain I caused myself. Self forgiveness became important.

I sure wish I understood why this Corona shit has so many people in a contemplative and sentimental mood. I've had one ex contact me and two others I dated briefly since this all began.
I'm not running a boredom hotline. They should just forget me.

^^^ Seriously, wanker is my new favourite word this week and plan on using it in a sentence ;-). And yes, I did block him :-).
Self-forgiveness!!! My gosh, I have such a ways to go on that front. But very good food for thought at this time of renewal.

Pig, I think in this ex’s case, it was drunkenness – real class act haha. But agree, why not just forget? Heck, I had forgotten his last name up until the message came through - my version of his last name had a similar ending but started with S instead of L. I've always been bad with names but it did make me chuckle.

I agree with Ms P, that if you really want something, in this case a lover, a regular type BF, or to be married you find it. If you're just pretending you do, of course you won't. Nothing magical about it. If you want something 'bad enough' you will take steps and have a mind set that will make it happen.

I'm not running a boredom hotline. They should just forget me. “Contemplative and sentimental” .... don’t need a killer virus to put me in that mood... I’m always like that! Seriously, though, I get it. People are looking at their lives, perhaps for the first time realizing they may not be here tomorrow. So, many could be attempting to make peace with their past, but for some maybe the only way they think they can do it is negatively. For me it just doesn’t make sense to try and find peace with hate. In my experience, hate often creates more, just as peace often creates more. Might be harder, but the only way I could really release my past is with love.

^^ WBU? I’m so not up with the acronym jargon.
Btw some women think they might seen too keen if they write you too quickly or often.
I’m not interested these days either. And honestly, I wouldn’t trust anyone’s attentions or intentions now as being genuine in the middle of this pandemic when we have to stay in isolation.

They might seem to keen lol? Talking to someone without prompt should be a basic communication skill and its a dating site. They should act keen to some extent. Now messaging 4 times in a row is being to keen. But, initiating conversation to keep it flowing isn't.

They had a dating expert (I think that's what they called him) on a cross country radio program today and I was pretty surprised that people are actually making an effort to find someone during this. My hat is off to them for their ingenuity. Part of the show was also to ask people to call in and talk about how their relationships are going during this. Those who responded who live with another said they were getting along better than ever. Those that live apart were missing each other. I expected that people would be getting on each other’s nerves by now. They talked about divorce filing spikes after this but who knows, maybe that is just speculation.

The Government has just invested money into domestic abuse as it has risen over here apparently due to the recent pressures.
The UK’s largest domestic abuse charity, Refuge, has reported a 700% increase in calls to its helpline in a single day

^^^ 700%? That is just staggering. Going into this, I worried and continue to worry about children in particular in unsafe homes. I grew up in one and was very fortunate not to live at home from grade 10 on. I am also very concerned about children in homes where there is poverty as going to daycare and school for some (not only a few) would have given them the only food they would get. The government here has brought in benefits for individuals laid off, businesses to help them keep staff on the books, and increased the child tax benefit (and they are working on more for those not covered by help to date). I just hope that children are able to benefit and stay safe and sound until they can get back into their various care and schooling situations.

On the food front. The kids that would get school meals get a £15 voucher and even in holidays towards food. Shame it is for the costly supermarkets. Some guy was delivering 80 school meals to I read the other day. They were saying how he walks 5 miles a day.
Good on him
A lot of Women that were working and being single mothers will be struggling as they were using food banks as it was and freely discussed at school gates about these food banks as if it was normal.
