Do you have a preferred age group that you consider when dating? What is it? Why do you prefer this group?

Well, I ain't into young, flighty things... or wizened crones. I dunno, really. Maybe 10 years max around my age. Gotta have things in common, ye see.

I agree with Stu... within a few years younger/older than me. I am not sure abut 10 either way but, maybe 5-6.

For the most part I've stayed within 5 yrs either way. The one that was almost 10 yrs younger started out as a friend.
I will confess that when I see a person that is only seeking someone much older or younger I have the urge to giggle because of stereotypes. However, when I was just starting high school my father's older brother was being pursued by a woman not much older than I was. They broke the stereotype because they're still married over 40 yrs later, still like each other and she knew he was broke from the beginning. Sometimes I feel guilty when I get the urge to giggle. Sometimes...

Many, many moons ago, my moby rang about 12.30 am. A rather inebriated female was on the line and had a rather strong Belfast accent. I explained I was not her female friend in my luxh Weegie accent (along with not exactly being high voiced). She texted me next day to apologise n asked if I was Scottish... me that makes the big yin sound effeminate. Long story short, she asked to talk again, but properly. She claimed to be about 10 years younger. We met and... eh... got along. Yup, the dafty came over from NI to Scotland. Then she admitted she was nearer 20 years younger n also told me her real name.
Ach well... was fun at the time, but she was too fond o a bevvy. Pity. She was cute.
So, in essence, am I a dirty old man?

No, you aren't a dirty old man. Everyone understands temptation - unless they're lying.

My age span is 18 years either side. I'm not sure what that makes me. A dirty old woman? I dated someone early 20s when I was hitting 40 . I dated someone late 50s in my 30s too. You have to have stuff in common but some things span the ages. There's 8 yrs between my OH and me. The age shows when we talk about our childhoods and teens. Apart from that there is no age related difference in our attitudes.

Attitude... that's a key word, big beaked bird. I'm in my 50s (just, HONEST), but I sure am not ready to join a bowling club n wear slacks n jerkins in various shades of beige. Where the FUCK do you get that range of beige? Is there a secret store for guys similar to what the Big Yin went on about Glasgow women?
You can meet young things that have old heads and the opposite. Following that, age IS just a number.

Yes we all think we're young until someone younger calls us old. Haaaahaha.
Attitude and connection and mutual resonance. I have a great friend who is 17yrs younger than me. I had a best friend who was 50yrs older than me and we called each other our soul mate. The connection to both of them defied age.
However I have also dated people and met people with whom the age difference really shows. I'm not sure how or why. It just does.
