You' re on your way to Super Land
Best time of your life is ahead of you.
You hold your breath like passing through
the fulfillment of every last expectation imaginable,
the 5 star buffet of joyrides, cotton candy, and water pistols
You feel light as a feather as if your life is meeting at every axis
like a well tuned 10 speed.
You pass through the ticket gate and take the coolest crispiest breath of your life.
Eyes lit, you are there.
A little further down on your tour de Super land,
you notice your brand new ball cap is weighing a bit heavier than before
It could be your new haircut, but that fix up trim set sail like your loose fitting socks,
not to mention the rock that seemed to have embedded itself into its fabric.
The whole way there you never noticed it and now your stopping at every bench like your car is leaking antifreeze.
The thought of cotton candy cheering you up entertains so you get some
but then your face is so sugar coated that not even your grandmother would kiss you and the line up at the washroom is longer than it is at the whirly spool.
You're tugging on your mom's pocket like your contacting your cell phone company's customer care line and when she finally answers, all you can say is "Rock, sock, sticky, hair, bugger in my nose"
and she says, "Don't stick you fingers in your nose and you wont get rocks stuck in your nose hair. What's wrong with your socks?"
Now the real question here is:
How do you go from 'gonna have the best time of your life' to rolling on the sidewalk, red in the face, in a ferocious battle with one of your socks? ; not even halfway through the day yet!
and yes, that wasn't bird poop. Someone puked from the top of the DreamspeedCoaster Down Under... (the poor soul).
Just be thankful you only got hit by its splash.
So with your sock, you use that poor soul's vomit to wipe off the stickiness of the cotton candy from your face, throw both socks in the garbage and give your ball cap a little tilt to the sky with a great big warm, fuzzy smile you say, "All better now."
