"Yeah...obviously we just gotta stick to our game. We just gotta go out there, get the puck in deep, and obviously win the battles in the corner...and obviously create more traffic in front of their net...and obviously get more shots through. But,obviously the guys are all givin a hundred and twenty percent. So,obviously we're hopeful we can pull this one out."
The text of every NHL player interview in history.

Quite a big change on the team just happened in Edmonton. They axed Tambellini and moved MacTavish to general manager. I liked MacT when he used to put on the skates and jersey, then get out there and play, but he's totally stunk the place up for years now with his contributions from behind the bench.

Ye know, there's quite a lively hockey scene in Scotland. At least a dozen teams active n playing in the UK leagues... might look into draggin along the offspring to take in a game cos a couple o teams share the nearest rink. Then hit the Chinese buffet in the complex. Great big Xscape with indoor slope, 10 pin alleys n that as well as the food near the Braehead arena where the hockey goes on

Hockey (when it's still more of a sport and less of a business) starts on boxing day.

Hockey? Do you mean Ice Hockey? Hockey to me is running around an icy field in St Trinian's PE kits wielding lethal wooden sticks and beating each others shins while attempting to plant the hardest ball in history into another girl's eye. My version of the game was when the ball and the mob of screaming girls was at one end of the field I was at the other; it worked well for me for all of my school life. My Dad played Ice Hockey in Canada, he was goalie.

Yeah, I was referring to ice hockey. The world juniors and the spengler cup start on boxing day. ...and hats off to your pa as being goalie puts a lot of weight on an individual's shoulders.

I was certainly a bit surprised to see the US team get taken out by Russia this morning in the IIHF World Juniors.
