If you want an oil and cannot find the right one, I can recommend a great Book. It is brilliant for even putting your own oil together using several different recipes. Always remember to check, you are able to use the oils you have chosen with any serious illnesses or elements you might have. This book does provide footnotes but always check further. I do not want a law suit thank you

I know someone that can fling together a not too bad aroma/massage mix of oils without a recipe....

I love aromatic massage oils. I like a nice lavender oil to help me relax but to wake up I like either grapefruit or tangerine/orange.

Never tried the citric fruit ones...good to know.
Love lavender...and it's an amazing oil to use for skin burns, believe it or not... just gotta be good quality pure essential oil.
I used to be more into aromatherapy and bathe with lavender, yang ylang and rose oil. It smelled heavenly and felt so silky on the skin (though did make a mess of the bath tub).
Still have my patchouli oil I've had for many, many years, but only very occasionally these days will put one drop on, though have smelled it on other people more in the last year again.

It's a rather interesting herb that I've noticed several times when snooping around looking at stuff about healthy plants and herbal medicines etc. Sounds like it's being looked at rather closely for several such benefits.

Yup, lemongrass. From what I can gather there're a handful of strains, two of which are generally sought for consumption. thaifood.about.com/od/thairecipesstepbystep/ss/lemongrasshowto.htmhealthers.org/lemongrass/Sounds like a few are notably more suited to the oils that it sounds like you're quite fond of. It even sounds like it'd kinda be pretty easy for me to grow downstairs in aquaponics world too. Maybe a bit tough for me to find seeds but apparently it'll root from cuttings pretty readily, so maybe next time I'm in the city I'll have a wee snoop for some nice fresh stuff and give it a whirl if I come across some. I have a pretty good idea where I can find some, but it'll hafta be fairly fresh for me to get it it take root again.

Wonder if the spring onion trick would work for lemon grass.... never pull up spring onions.... snip them like chives n they'll regrow... just that lemon grass looks like it grows much the same way but it IS a grass n not an onion. Hmmm... maybe mow it?

From what I found it kinda sounds like ya should snip it at around ground level, then clean up the stalks for one whatever usage is gonna be. Apparently just hacking off chunks or the roots and transplanting the pieces is the best method for propagation. That, and just trying to get cuttings to take root. www.growthis.com/how-to-grow-lemongrass/

My favourite herbal remedy book I've had for years was written by a very dear friend in Burwash, East Sussex...wondering if swan might know him as he and wife started the Green Farm Nutrition Center there many years ago. "Explains the secrets of herbal combining. The key combinations for female balance, cleansing, arthritis, good sleep, etc., more powerful than the action of any one herb. Explains how the body works and therefore how it is healed, naturally, Gives full meaning to the phrase 'holistic health'. Not only herbs, but nutritional statagies, hints for physical and emotional healing are included. A perspective of great breadth and practical value. Beautifully illustrated. 160 pp."

I did chance upon some of the lemon grass I was looking for today, and although it wasn't quite as nice and fresh as I was hoping to find, I still grabbed one pack (6 stalks) to give growing it a whirl. They do say that it's real hardy and roots easily after all, and I only need for one stalk to decide that it's gonna make a go of it. I should easily have all I want after that.

Certainly wasn't at breakneck speed or anything, but the I hadn't checked the lemongrass I've been soaking for nearing a week, and today when I had a look there are decent roots starting from the bases. I imagine the two I planted using rooting hormone are likely doing even better but it'd be pretty tough to check. Still no new green growth though.
