Latest news - just received - the pond has now not only hidden the poetry forum, but has closed it to the public too....so it's only visible to past writers who know how to access it.
And so, I have already received one request to join here, and I imagine there will be others to follow as well.
Gratefully, we welcome them with open arms and look forward to sharing creatively with frivolity!

As if that writing wasn't on the wall already. They started axing the forums over there years ago. The forums is not where the money's at, and as has been illustrated repeatedly, that's big fish's only real concern.

I kinda thought the writing was on the wall in pretty bold print with the way members voicing their unhappiness almost immediately were led to believe it was just a mistake, and yet it was obvious that no remedial actions were even being attempted. I just had a boo over there though and see a few familiar long-time diehards there trying to keep it going.

yes, the tiny group now never stopped posting....but nearly all the regulars who used to post for years have moved on and it still seems there aren't any new members finding the poetry section.
i imagine more poetry threads have been created in the creative writing forum (that never was put underground)...but when I tried to do that last year, they closed it saying to post in poetry...though 'newbies' they let start poetry threads there.
it's a shame. it was a nice place to play poetically...that was the best part of the site, i thought.

Well, from my personal experience, I hadn't realized it was a big community thing at first. I'm just happy I'm not on there anymore and am actually considering deleting this profile. Personally I think the ceo should wipe the poetry forum clean a let people start fresh.

Personally I think the ceo should wipe the poetry forum clean a let people start fresh. ^^ why? for those of us who did write there for years, what would be the point of deleting all that creativity? plus, my thoughts are, with that forum invisible, it's nearly what they did anyway. People can always start fresh threads, if they can find the forum, which is doubtful unless someone else tells them about it. more important, though...i'd be sorry to see you go from here, wombat.

I like Wombat's posts, especially when we get all philosophical.
Ive left many forums. The 2 in ten restriction seems par for the course, and here in NY Im bored. YES bored, cause Im tired of the same old rush rush rude attitudes every place I go here.
