What a ghost-town the vittles section has become since tizz's departure. I'm trying to decide whether I wanna go to all the trouble of making Chinese food, hence trying to get a better hang of the crispy ginger beef. (a personal fav if it's good, but my first attempt was...) Meatloaf's another option I'm considering (idiot proof too, which is good when I gotta cook but just don't feel like it ) as I should use up some burger. .....and of course I just started craving dirty bird (KFC), but not until it started pouring rain so I'd hafta drive in the mess to satisfy the craving. Decisions, decisions.....

I miss her too - the recipes, the pictures of food, and no offense, but someone else to play games with.

I FINALLY found a bit of halibut for a decent price (a bit over $35/kilogram) and was sooooo looking forward to it tonight, but got mowing the grass and it was 8 before I knew it. Tomorrow though for sure. (worst part is that I spent well over 3 hours and only got about 3/4 of my lawns mowed)

I thawed another tub of the seafood chowder that my stubble-jumper (Saskatchewan ite) buddy made when he was here this Spring.

Hauling stuff in from the garden again, so I know beets and their greens is on the menu. Fresh spuds, peas, and just picked beans. (both yellow and green ones) I suppose I should also eat that other rib steak I already BBQed, but left sitting in the fridge. (just a "coverin' all the food groups" thing yanno )

I'm just firing up the smoker for a big batch of pork chops (most of which are destined for the freezer) that I soaked in seasoned brine overnight. They should be done in time for a late supper tonight.
