Haha. I know what you mean though about visual attraction, and clothes, hair, even posture can enhance someone. Often in the beginning both people put more attention into showing up and acting in the most attractive way... like the best they can be. Often over time, that eases and the less attractive aspects start to show. And most telling of who they really are with you is when there is disagreement. How that is handled with both people I feel is really the make or break of most relationships.
Me? I know I’m a visual person and if I don’t like looking at your face or eyes, I will lose interest. I know it sounds superficial, but it really does seem beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I also resonate with the energy of the other person, so it’s not always what others find attractive that I like. Love of life and people and vulnerability goes a long way with me.
For a while now it has dawned on me I have always loved and will always love men, growing up with three brothers very close in age to me, so my best buddies really for life. So I have always been sexually attracted to men too and really tried to make relationships with them work. But for the last couple of years it has grown in me honestly an awareness it’s women I truly adore and naturally love these days. So, I am opening my horizons to allow the possibility of a special closeness with a woman to enter. I am not actively looking, but I can feel where my energy is being drawn to these days and it’s really fascinating and exciting. That’s all I know for now. We’ll see where it takes me.

Familiarity breeds contempt.
Nuff' said.

^^^So does this mean that we all have the seed of contemptibleness within us, which sprouts, puts roots down, grows and eventually blossoms into full blown contemptibleness while coddled and cuddled in the fertile loam of familiarity?

One of many old idioms that I oppose.
Familiarity can only "breed contempt," if the people involved are predisposed to having contempt for others, OR if someone actually is contemptible.
You can't grow tomatoes from radish seeds.
