Lovely area. We're in the Hiawatha Valley of the Mississippi River. Scenic and quiet. Knock on wood. ;-) Small Town Minnesota

Midway in St Paul is where my friend Ted's guitar store is, I just checked on Facebook and he posted this: "Thank you everyone for helping and calling and reaching out. Sorry we can't respond as we are packing up our shop with the help of so many friends. Love is all around. But most importantly... May the Floyd Family get some Justice. Pray for Change. Pray for Peace." vigguitarshop.com/

Was this just last night? Friday? After they put the curfew into effect? I could not bear to turn on the news this a.m.

OMG. Emailed my brother this afternoon after Granddaughter filled me in on the events of the night. Says he's OK, lives in a building of condos in Somali neighborhood. Said in a one mile radius all around it's either burnt out, closed or wrecked. Very loud at night. Is ready for a haircut. The guy is a master of understatement. Gotta love him~
Why oh Why did they not enforce the curfew. Madness.
They closed my local Target. Apparently we may be next in the path of mindless destruction. WTF

Businesses burned in overnight fire in north MinneapolisThis is in the Victory Neighborhood a few blocks from my house that I sold in December. "The blaze was reported at a strip mall at 44th Ave. N. and Penn Ave. N., with Minneapolis Fire Department Deputy Chief Kathleen Mullen telling WCCO that residents in the area believe someone drove behind the back of the building and threw something on the roof before the businesses erupted into flames. That corroborates what a local resident in the area told Bring Me The News. "My black friend’s business was fire bombed around 2 a.m. We had guards up at the intersection. They were doing rounds, as soon as they got half a block away someone pulled up through the alley and threw something on the roof and sped away," she said"

My friends who live in the Victory Neighborhood believe that it was outside agitators not locals. It's a diverse family neighborhood of small homes most built in the 20s and 30s. "The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of Victory is an important part of its character. This neighborhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 85% of the properties in Victory and 15% are rented. Most homes in this area were built before the 1960s, during its biggest construction boom." I think part of the reason for attacks there is the easy access to Highway 100 from Penn ave N. It would have taken the attacker(s?) 2 minutes to be on the highway after throwing the firebomb there.

Home grown terrorism vs outside agitators. The debate has gone on forever. Mostly we prefer outsiders rather than our own people destroying their own neighborhoods. Hard to wrap the mind around.
Must be Aliens. Former Prez Barack Obama keeps weighing in. Really? A bit too late IMO. Easy for him to comment from his cushy digs on the east coast. Cape Cod? IDK
