I still have a "fringe" jacket I bought in 1970. I think they are "back in style" now,lol
Laughing... Great jacket, cb! I still have mine too, though got quite a few years later, without the fringe as never had it, is in terrible shape compared to yours since I wore it so much, still have the fluffy lining for it too so I can wear it in colder weather, and love the suede covered buttons. It's just so comfortable! And hibbie, do I dare tell you I did have a mullet haircut in England and looked like a boyband (girl) mid 80's? 😊 Might find a pic later, though think my daughter is in it as a young toddler this time vs my son and I'm not sure about posting pics of my children here since it is a public forum and lurkers can see the pics, even if they can't enlarge them.

^^^In the mid-seventies, I was working at a large firm in Mpls in the accounting dept. A co-worker of mine, who I got to be great buds with had a fringed leather jacket like that. She was younger than me, newly arrived from North Dakota, wild and free was Nancy! She rocked that coat like you wouldn't believe!
Often wonder what happened to her~
Were they not quite heavy?

They vary in weight. I got a suede fringed jacket in 1977 that was pretty light-weight. The thing was very expensive to clean, and it finally got so stained, I had to get rid of it.

Just found this online. A brilliant clip of Manchester United's Boot Boys on their way to Elland Road in Leeds.
White skinners on show as well. Cracking days indeed.

Vesuvia Football used to be the domain of the working class.
Back in the 70's going to football was rough.
Young men have always fought. Always will.
Safety in numbers.
The away team always had the edge because you met en masse at the train station.
The Man U mob are in their hundreds.
Leeds and Man U have always hated each other.
But anyway those were Boot Boys.
When I was 16 we went to Dundee for a Scottish Cup replay.
I had silver DM boots, white skinner jeans, white Ben Sherman shirt, braces, a black Barathea jacket and my green and white Hibees scarf.
We got gubbed 3-0.
Ah well.

One day Ill have to get a pic of some of my vintage clothes on me from Jr high. Black and white mini, velvet turtle neck mini. Just donated a ton of stuff last year because of moving. Then I turn around and bought vintage zebra pants.Go figure.
Note a size 0/2 US now was a size 5/6 US from the 70s. Delusions of grand-Oh dear
Always loved black, always love minis and turtle necks. I liked the 50s beatnik look I would see in movies. I have tons of those stripped shirts that resemble them and wear w yoga pants way to much.
