Aye big Jo. Stuck in the politics of the 70's.
I mind him gushing praise for st Jeremy of Corbyn.
At last jo claimed a REAL socialist alternative.
St Jeremy of Corbyn. Another 70's throwback.
And of course London labour suffered their worst election defeat since the 30's.
Jo never realised the world has moved on since the 70's.

I can't remember where I seen this. But, I saved it to hdd. If he had been clear about brexit and said he'd stick by the vote. He'd likely be in.

Today is the start of the Bring Back Big Jo Campaign.
It's no fun when all the posters on these threads are clued up about politics.
We NEED posters who write long posts which are more full of holes than rab c nesbitts vest.

I am willow, thank you . Lovely pic :). Been very busy buying tins. I refuse to queue. I'm going to the dump tomorrow and have put the stuff in my car. I'm still working . So many people have gone this week.Any day over the next week will shut us down. The airport is a ghost town. Lots of planes parked up. There are about 6 piers where all the gates are,and two are mothballed. A few passengers and much Cargo coming in, it's epic.
...didn't post ^^^ fell asleep. :)
Doing my company accounts.I'm about 80% through the process.
Helicopter money on the way . A friend told me a husband and wife at her firm due to retire now had to ask for their jobs back , maybe not happening, as their combined 80 year pension is lost. They had a cruise booked the first of many. Not happening now as they are destitute already. The pension was run at arms length from the company.
Anyway this is the tin period. And people are still gathering together. Infecting or killing doctors and nurses who are being thrown under the bus.
The economic system is set up for the parasitical bankers. Who are now 40 % of the host. They are running now for the lifeboats. Many will perish.
Socialism, not just for the few, will now pick up the pieces of this faux capitalist system. The irony that Bernie's policies are being enacted around the world. As we know from Margaret Thatcher, socialism is fine until you run out of other people's money. But before we get there, We will have austerity as we fight to get on top of the coronavirus. Shut down is upon us.
The dollar will truly break things as it continues to strengthen. The world and America needed a weak dollar. Not getting it. So much envy from the rest of the world as America for a period enjoys its socialism at the expense of the rest of the world.

Billy! So good to hear from you. Glad to know all is ok and that you're just buried under a barrel full of tins and accounts at the moment.
So, nothing new in your world it sounds like. :)
Ok, I know you're the economics mystic around here and all, but I beg to differ, sir, that the dollar is going to remain strong. I don't see how that can be when it is going to have to stretch to cover the majority of this american consumer addictive society for god only knows how long.
I mean if so many businesses are closed, or near to, and people have no way to continue to pay for our ever so extravagantly expensive lifestyles, and the only way to bail the whole bloody country out is to print an obscene amount of the paper green stuff (so boring here, no colours, or bright new shiny plastic bills like England's indestructible currency at the moment)....
Well, I just don't see how the dollar can mean much of anything after this.
p.s. It must really feel like the twilight zone at work with planes just hanging around waiting to fly again, dreaming of the air under their wings....

Yes the dollar should have died a long time ago but with inventive people, fortune and violence, it has gone on for far longer than many would have thought. That said it was basically just a bubble. A house of cards. A con. Many people have suffered though. The American working class have been wiped. Many Arabs sacrificed on the altar of the maintenance of the world's reserve currency.
I can't predict the future willow. But I do know that history is replete with rhyme.
The dollar was strong going in to this and is even stronger now. The dollar index is over a hundred again from a very strong 98. That index is mostly the euro. Which means America is exporting its deflation ...depression....into europe. It's suffocating the global economy. This is nothing new.
I repeat, the us dollar is the worst currency in history. Chronic trade deficits by design. And humongous debts as predicted. But everybody is scared and that being so it is perceived as a haven. Also the world is scrambling for dollars pay for imports and to service the trillions in debt that their ever weakening local currencies struggle to attain and pay for. The collapse in oil prices is also a bad thing, one thing, is even less dollars are being generated now . Bidding up its price.
I obviously have for maybe 8 years now expected its demise at any time. The coronavirus I think will hasten this. The IMF'S SDR fiat currency, created in 1969 to replace the dollar hasn't yet. Part Nixon shock. Part 70s oil shock. Part Paul Volker's King dollar with the fed funds rate at 20% in the early eighties. Part the industrialisation of China. Part derivatives. Part asset price inflation. Part violence. Part QE. Part probably the coming Helicopter money . That is something akin to throwing colourful bits of paper out of a helicopter onto the masses. If history is a guide and it is this will interact with actual production but not in a good way.
A dollar going to the moon is good for no one . As the world will hoard what production there is. People will not work for others very long and go without. People need to be paid.
Governments don't have money. Nor do banks. Truth. It's a tedious truth for me because no one I personally know believes it. Money came from the marketplace. Not the state or their bogus relationship with the bankers.
Take away the the paper machinations and you will have people exchanging goods and services and enhancing their wellbeing or wealth. But we are fond of having a middle man doing not a stroke but paradoxically inserting his legal tender iou to capture our creation of value.

I don't think it's joe, vlad. The ahem imposter has racked up some likes now that make no sense whatsoever. It's a pity I was looking forward to calling bullshit on any attempt at Joe's unique dogma and moronic emoticons ...
