Stu are you hoping that Scot bankers and pollies will be less corrupt? Well I hope you're right but suspect that they are as out for themselves as the rest of the world's elite.

Ach.... at least the SNP have remained consistent on their policies since inception... can ye say that about Con/Lab/Lib? Look at the EEC... who signed us up n what party is now anti Europe? The big boys juggle policies just to remain in power... with total lack of consistency... then just playground argue about who did (or didn't) do what.

Well I hope for your sake that you have a better govt than the corrupt cretins that are stealing from us down here.

Certainly can't be any worse. Oh... we have proportional representation rather than first past the post. Seems to work out fairer.

Underscoring a failed understanding of the concept, efforts to introduce PR here in Canada, have been successfully slandered by the conservatives as, "anti democratic." So do they currently enjoy a "majority government"...with 29% of the popular vote. Given a 50% voter turnout, a prominent political science professor noted that, "8.8% of Canadians elected the prime minister."

Knight, it was calculated that, here in Scotland, PR would make it that no single party would ever get full control of parliament due to the way PR works. Says a LOT that the SNP managed to get a majority government.

It's actually proportional proportional representation we have here. There are so many first past the post in each electoral area and the rest made up from voting percentages from lists of names submitted by each party.

Well... here's where a raft of new promises start appearing from the southern overlords... 100 days to go til the referendum. Already, LibLabCon are promising a few more self governing powers. A few crumbs and platitudes won't help.

See when we get independance, we're gonna rebuild Hadrian's wall n put in a cat flap for visitors... it may just be too wee for mop tops to squeeze their glorious mane through though... n def far too wee for big headed twats like cameraman (not that he ever wants to go north of Watford)

Nice to see central government are as frugal as ever. Had the same booklet twice now postulating how wonderful being in the UK is.
Is it, indeed? Metrocentric imperialism is not my cup o cha... they talk shite about recovery, but it only concerns London. Only time money trickles out of that midden is when the self important buy 2nd, 3rd n so on houses to "escape" to. Thus driving up prices wherever the chinless twats settle. Look at Cornwall. Locals can't afford even the tiniest of flats now while many houses are only occupied a few weeks a year. The Cornish should take a leaf out the Welsh book n start arson around.

Scotland votes "No", and remains part of the U.K. Apparently its been peaceful. They have kept the country of four great nations together.

I don't believe Stu is happy with the vote, but with his work schedule we may not hear for a few more days.

Morning/evening peeps ........
Scotland is not happy, in fact most of Scotland is very unhappy as it's generally felt that the voting was fixed, and tbh I have to agree with them. I can't see what the problem with the heathens breaking free of tyranny and rule from afar, it made sense to me that they would want their own bloody country, but hey ho, who am I to argue the toss, I'm of dubious heathen descent myself.

With that I really am waiting for Stu's opinion.
Following this thread I'm not surprised you feel that way either Swannie.
