Ahhh, I stumbled across the "...normal 3 cats ago..." doodle and couldn't help but grin and think of Willow :) A handful of them made me grin to be honest.

Yeah, I'm far more of a dog person myself, however I'm still a big fan of cats and their contributions around the farm, not to mention lots of entertainment they can provide now and then. Dogs are just way more interactive and enthusiastic when it comes to doing stuff together. The goats are pretty comical as well and if it weren't for the fact that their milk is naturally homogenized I'd go that route, as they still provide far more milk than I require. I want the cream that's far easier to attain from a cow though, for butter, home-made ice cream, etc. so I still wanna get a little cow. Likely a little dexter (originating from near your neck of the woods) or a cross thereof.

I meant cats are arseholes cos of how they act, but not in a bad way. Had cats a major part of my life, even though they are total dicks, but amusing dicks.

This one’s for @grey. A friend just posted this elsewhere and I naturally thought of you after thinking about bees and wondering if it was true how short their lifespans are...

6 weeks is a petty good generalization regarding the lifespan of the majority of the hive, (worker bees) yup. That changes considerably, late in the season though, as more long-lived bees are necessary for the hive to survive long winter stretches without new troops being recruited. Drones (males)generally live around 3 months and are banished to perish once winter approaches. Queen bees being the major exception and generally living a few years, though exhausting their sperm supply (necessary to keep the colony populated) usually in 2 or 3 years, thus becoming of little value to the colony anymore.
